Wisdom Child Leads with Learning at 2025 Nutrition Society of Nigeria Schools Debate
Wisdom Child International Secondary School, Borikiri, Port Harcourt, once again proved that excellence is not an act but a habit. At the 2025 Nutrition Society of Nigeria Schools Debate, our students didn’t just compete—they showcased the depth of a curriculum that prioritizes real-world relevance, critical thinking, and national impact.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Long before the debate topic “Nutrition Education should be made a Core Subject in Secondary Schools” was announced, Wisdom Child had already embedded nutrition awareness into its science and health curriculum. Our students regularly engage in nutrition-focused projects, wellness campaigns, and classroom discussions that connect theory to everyday life. This foundation gave our team a confident edge, whether proposing or opposing the motion.
The Road to the Finals
After a decisive win against Corner Stone International Secondary School, our team advanced to face Christy Lecole International Secondary School, Abuloma in the finals. On September 16th, 2025, lots were drawn: Wisdom Child would oppose the motion, while Christy Lecole would propose.
Our speakers Miss Emmanuella Azeke (Chief Speaker) and Miss Nora Mishael (Second Speaker), delivered articulate, evidence-based arguments that earned us 17 out of 20 points. Christy Lecole scored 18.2, placing us in a close second.
